The Orchard at Altapass is a nonprofit heirloom apple orchard on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Spruce Pine, with trees nearly 100 years old and a family- and pet-friendly atmosphere. Visitors can pick apples in season, take tractor rides, and enjoy live music and dancing on the orchard's pavilion. The site also has a general store, an Apple Core Grill, and walking trails through pollinator gardens.
