A seasonal pick-your-own flower farm at Lower Snug, about 25 minutes south of Hobart, Tasmania, growing over 100 varieties of field-grown flowers including sunflowers. It runs ticketed Summer and Autumn Flower Picking sessions from October to April, with pre-bookable picnic platters available in the grounds. It is close to the Bruny Island ferry terminal.
A 37-hectare free-range pig and produce farm 10 minutes from Penguin in North West Tasmania, best known as a farm-to-table restaurant, event barn and dome-stay accommodation. It also grows a sunflower garden and cider orchard, opening periodic pick-your-own sunflower days with live music, $5 entry and $2 per stem. Visitors can also join farm tours and paddock-to-plate dining.
A berry farm in the Coal Valley near Richmond, Tasmania, offering pick-your-own strawberries and, from around February, pick-your-own sunflowers. On-site extras include real-fruit ice cream, jams and a coffee van. It is located between Puddleduck Vineyard and The Wicked Cheese Company, about 25 minutes from Hobart.
A specialist flower bulb farm at Table Cape near Wynyard in North West Tasmania, famous for its spring tulip season. In summer it also opens 'The Patch', a garden-style display of dahlias, sunflowers, gladioli and lilies overlooking Table Cape Lighthouse, open daily from mid-February to early-to-mid April. The farm shop sells locally made goods and bulbs.
