The Taranaki Maize Maze is an annual community maize maze cut into farmland at Egmont Village near Inglewood, run by the Inglewood Lions Club as a local fundraiser. It has operated most years since being established, typically opening in the January-Easter window. It is promoted mainly through Facebook rather than a dedicated website.
Waverley Sunflower Farm is a newly launched one-hectare sunflower field on a fourth-generation family farm at Waverley in South Taranaki, run by Harry Train and Aneeka Beveridge. Visitors pay a cash entry fee and can pick their own sunflower stems; after the season the flowers are used to feed livestock.
Whenuakura School, on Kaharoa Road between Pātea and the Whenuakura River in South Taranaki, cuts an annual haunted maize maze in a 1.6-hectare paddock as its main fundraiser. The event pairs a gentler daytime maze with Friday/Saturday evening 'soft scare' and 'full scare' night sessions.
