Waverley Sunflower Farm is a newly launched one-hectare sunflower field on a fourth-generation family farm at Waverley in South Taranaki, run by Harry Train and Aneeka Beveridge. Visitors pay a cash entry fee and can pick their own sunflower stems; after the season the flowers are used to feed livestock.
Whenuakura School, on Kaharoa Road between Pātea and the Whenuakura River in South Taranaki, cuts an annual haunted maize maze in a 1.6-hectare paddock as its main fundraiser. The event pairs a gentler daytime maze with Friday/Saturday evening 'soft scare' and 'full scare' night sessions.
